Give Thanks

November was a very busy month. I spent a lot of it researching where to get the best deals. I am so thankful that black friday ads are now online in advance so I know what items to get in the before black friday sales and what to wait on! I know many of you are probably laughing, but I am a deal shopper and half the fun of shopping is seeing how much I can save! In between the craziness we still were able to have lots of fun with family!

About 1 week before Thanksgiving I took Aspen and Danny up to Sandy to play in Grandma's leaves. Sometimes Aspen does not like to get to dirty and this was one of those days. Eventually she warmed up to the idea and had a blast playing in the leaves. Danny never quite warmed up to the idea and I do mean literally becuase he was FREEZING. He didn't cry or even whine, but he just sat there looking at us like we were crazy. Nonetheless we got some cute pictures. For thanksgiving we were supposed to go to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, but with the big storm coming on both travel days we made a change of plans! And I must say things turned out perfectly. On Tuesday night we went up to the Sperry cabin and spent the night. Aspen made a very small snowman with Tyler and Grandpa. We played games, played pool, watched a movie and just had fun spending time together as a family. We told Aspen to make different faces and this is what we got! Happy, silly, sad, mad and more silly!
Than on Thanksgiving Day Tyler woke up early and got to play in the turkey bowl with my brothers. Its his one time of the year to play football and he loved it. Thanksgiving dinner was DELICIOUS and we ate it up at Tyler's parents house. Than we stayed up there for the rest of the week to enjoy our time. We did what we loved to do, played games and watched movies!
Than on Saturday we went sleding. Aspen thought it was a lot of fun until she did a nose dive into the snow. Than she went with grandpa and grandma in the car to warm up. Once again Danny was not a fan of the cold and he just stayed bundled up. That didn't stop the rest of us from going off jumps and having a great time!

I have so much to be thankful for but here are a few things that come to mind right now:

1. I am thankful to have a holiday season where I am not pregnant or sick. For the last 4 years I have either been miscarrying or pregnant and have been really sick. Its been great to have energy this year to actually bake and make caramels and fudge and all the fun holiday things!

2. I am so thankful that we were able to move into a house and be able to rent our condo out! It is so nice to have the extra space and feel like everything has a place to store.

3. I am so thankful that I get to be a stay at home mom. My 2 kids keep my so busy and I love being there for them. It is so fun to watch them learn something new.

4. I am thankful for the gospel. This year I have been more dillgent than ever about getting up and praying and reading my scriptures. While I haven't been perfect at it yet I am doing so much better. And I can tell becuase I feel so at peace and I am happier than I remember being. Usually when life is going to very good for us I get a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen. Than before to long something bad usually happens. But this year I have learned to just be happy and deal with whatever comes our way. I am learning that bad things can only happen if you believe they are bad. If you just know that you are going through this process to learn from it things wont seem quite as bad.

5. I am thankful for good books! I can get so lost in a book and I love feeling apart of something else. Its fun to just sit down and be apart of someone else's life, even if you know they are not real. I love books that make me think and help me to grow, but I also just love fun books that let me escape the stress of everyday life.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and were able to sit down and think of all the things they have to be thankful for. I know whenever I do that life seems a whole lot better!
