Should I or should I not???
So Tyler's family is going to California in August and have invited us to go. Our hotel and flight are paid for and most of our food is paid for!!! Normally without question we would go, but with me being due July 25th I am not sure if we should go. Tyler and I have both been to southern cal recently so this will be a very chill trip. We will probably just relax at the pool or beach and maybe go to sea world 1 day. What do you mom's out there think? Aspen will be between 3-5 weeks(depending on when she is born and what week in aug we go). Is it even worth it for me to go or would it be a nightmare for everyone? Would you go?

I say go as long as you have a separate hotel room. I would have loved to have a fun relaxing vacation a few weeks after having Lily.
yeah you are not in flu season so you should be ok. I would ask the Dr. about flying though depending on how young she is.
I know that babies under 4 weeks can't fly. It's hard to say how you will feel too. If you do go I agree about the separate hotel room. Especially if you are nursing you do not want an audience in the early days.
I checked the different airlines and it looks like I can fly after 2 weeks. Before 2 weeks you can fly, but you need a doctors note.
Oh that is so good to know, I'm glad you don't have to wait.
Be aware.... babies don't allow moms and dads to sleep. So if you do go, just realize and hope and pray that everyone else realizes that both you and Tyler will be tired and not up to doing much.
Consider the following: can you function on sleeping only for two hours at a time, being up for 30-60 minutes and repeating it the whole night? (if you don't nurse, this time frame can change and Tyler could do some of the feedings.) If the answer is yes...go for it!
Also...you should not use sunscreen on babies younger then 6 months, so hanging by the pool or going to the beach with a baby will require you to be creative.
With all that said....I took Dallin to Germany when he was 4 months, Brennan to Australia when he was 6 months (Dallin was 3 yrs old) and Tanith to Germany when she was 5 months (Dallin was 6, Brennan was 3). Traveling with kids is fun as long as you keep in mind that you are no longer a carefree person who can come and go as you please...
All that said... one of the best things I did was when Dallin was 11 weeks, I went away ALONE for a week to an ice skating comp. Sure, it was sad to leave the little guy, but I got some much needed rest, got my hormones back in check, and had some ME time.
If you have a normal delivery and everything with you and baby is fine, then I would totally recommend going. Like Kim said, since you're not in flu season, you should be okay... and the baby will probably sleep almost all day long. You can get a "hooter hider/bebe au lait" cover for nursing and you can nurse wherever you need to. Since you have family around you may even be able to take a romantic walk on the beach with Tyler for an evening to take what will be a much appreciated break!
that's a tough question! You have no idea what to expect with your first, so it depends on how daring you are! My kids come early and I like to rest for awhile after, so I don't have complications...good luck with that one! By the way, what color is your nursery?
I took all the kids to Cali alone when Sadie was 5 weeks. Just do it! You may not feel like doing much (as far as swimming if you know what I mean!) but who cares, you guys can just relax. Plus you will have a little help which is nice. As far as not sleeping, it's either not sleeping at home or not sleeping in Cali so it probably doesn't matter much :) And as for the pool or whatever just bring a hat for the babe and sit under an umbrella. Good luck!
what is your e-mail address? Mine is lynzmaughan@hotmail.com Now we can e-mail instead of having to leave these posts!
As long as all is well with both you and the babe, I'd say go! Newborn stage is the easiest to travel in since they sleep most of the time (in the day at least!)
