My Favorite Tournament

I was sitting on the airplane on our way to Palm Springs trying to count the all the different times I have been to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. I couldn't count for sure, but its been on and off for 18 years now. Wow that makes me feel old. I think the first time I went I was about 8-years-old and I love it now just as much as I did back then. It is in a different venue, a bigger venue, but I still love it. Tyler and I went to the tournament right after we got married, than between having babies and various reasons we haven't been able to go back. Well I am officially done nursing and I am not pregnant so this was the perfect year to go. And yes we left our kids at home!!! I love my kids to pieces, but I think its good to go on one vacation a year without them to just be with your spouse. It was so nice to be able to relax and just enjoy the vacation. My dad and brothers are the coaches of the boys Timpview Tennis team and take the boys down with them every year so we tagged along.

We spent 3 days in the hot sun enjoying lots of tennis!It was 85degrees everyday we were there and that is a big change from our 30degree weather in Utah. Me and Tyler pretty much tried to hide from the heat as much as we could. We were cool putting on our sunscreen everyday, wearing our hats and staying in the shade as much as possible. That was a big difference from when I was younger and I put on tanning oil and made sure I was facing the sun wherever I was watching. I wish I would have realized back than that I could still get tan wearing sunscreen. I am sure I will pay for that later.

I pretty much got to see everyone I wanted, either on the practice courts or in a match. Isner is my favorite tennis player right now. And while I sadly didn't get to see him play a match, I did get to watch him and Querry warming up. I also got to see Melanie Oudin who is an upcoming and coming American. She did well at the US Open 2 years ago and I hope she continues to do well. Here is a bunch of pictures I took, named in order:

It was nice to have a break on Sunday to go to Church and than relax around the house. I read outside and took a nap and than we had a bbq for dinner and played games with the kids. It was so much fun. Also on Tuesday we went to Knotts Berry Farms. It was great to try out a new amusement park. I love going on rides. My mom lost her camera, but if she finds it I will post some pictures of Knotts. I would say its better than Lagoon, but not quite as good as Magic Mountain. I am so glad we were able to go!!
