As I mentioned in an earlier post I was able to go to the temple and do baptism through sealing for the same person. Tyler and I have been wanting to do this ever since we have been married and Tyler planned it for my birthday. Many of the experiences I had in the temple are to personal to share, but I do what to post about the feelings I had there. Most the time when Tyler and I plan to attend a session at the temple I go dragging my feet. For some reason every time we go I am not in the mood, am always extremely tired, or I just feel like I have tons to do. I don't know why I usually feel this way becuase EVERYTIME I go I LOVE it. I guess it is Satan trying to get me to stay home. Well this time things were very DIFFERENT. As soon as I found out we were going I was SUPER excited. And the whole day went by SO FAST.
For the first time we were able to do family names that Tyler's uncle had found. This was my first time doing a family name and I loved it. I prayed the whole day that this person would accept the blessings of the gospel. It was incredible to know that we were related and that I was able to do the work for this family member. I can only imagine the day that I get to meet her. What an overwhelming feeling that will be.
I wish I could portray the feelings I had throughout the day. The biggest feeling was peace. I was at peace with my life, peace with the trials I have been given and with the trials that will come. I felt true happiness. I felt a greater love for Tyler and Aspen, so thankful for the blessing they are to.
The greatest part about spending a whole day at the temple was that we got to participate in all parts of the priesthood. We got to see the gospel in all of its forms. Baptisms, confirmations, and inatiory prepared us spiritually to be ready to learn from the endowment and sealing.
I think that was the best part about the whole day. I felt in tune to everything that was going on. I was able to focus better becuase my mind had been prepared.
I am so thankful for the day spent at the temple. I am so thankful for a husband that knew that was something I would love to do and I am so glad we could share that experience together. The whole day took about 8 hours, that included a long lunch break, doing multiple baptisms, confirmations, inatories and sealings. We only did 1 endowment! I hope that Tyler and I can go back and do that about once a year! I pray that I can continue to go to the temple often. I love the Lord and am thankful for his sacrifice for me. I want to stand before Him one day and know that I did everything I could to help others return to Him.
