Love!

Valentines Day is so much fun with kids!  I love our tradition of our morning breakfast.  This year I added homemade pop tarts and I think they will be returning because we all loved them!  The kids also got  a few little things including the traditional swim suits!  I love spending time with my family and doing something extra special!  2- Feb3 P1100021

Itty Bitty Ball- All Sports

Why is it that little kids look so cute doing sports?!?  Aspen yet again was one of the only girls at this camp.  But she is very athletic and showed up a few of the boys.  Her favorite sport was baseball, than  basketball than football and least of all soccer.  I don't blame her soccer is pretty boring!  This year she got to play with her bust buddy Levi. Fancy Nancy Soiree

Aspen and I got to go on a mommy/daughter date to library for a Fancy Nancy Soiree.  She got to dress up, than they read stories, had tea and did some fun activities.  Afterwards we went with her friends to lunch.  I love having a girl so that we get to do girly things and have special moments like this! 2- Feb2P1090566

Start them young

Colt started a green smoothie today.  He actually liked it.  I made it a little different than we make ours and it had some good quality fat in there.  Hopefully we can beef this guy up a little, but considering his 2 older siblings are so tiny to I highly doubt it!

The Cruise- St Martin

Words cannot even describe how beautiful this island was!!!  By far our favorite stop of both cruises we have been on.  This is what you think of when you imagine exotic Carribean.  Since things hadn't turned out quite like we imagined at the other ports we booked an excursion through the cruise line for a boat ride/snorkeling tour to a private cove.  The ride was perfect and I loved seeing the island from a distance.  The cove was spectacular   The water was a little cloudy since there had been some storms recently, but we still saw some cool fish.  Than we hung out on the beach for awhile.  We found some pretty sweet seashells we were excited to take back to the kids, but the while we were getting back on the cruise they threw everything away saying it wasn't sanitary.  I was pretty bummed about that one!  But other than that the day was perfect.  I can picture myself spending a whole week on that island and I really hope we get to go back someday!!! P1090433St5Pictures from Janei'as camera5Pictures from Janei'as camera4

The Cruise- St. Thomas

St. Thomas was so much cleaner than Nassau and a whole lot prettier!  We decided to take a bus to Megans Bay because we heard its one of the top beaches in the world.  We also had heard you could rent scooters there.  As you can tell Tyler and I really wanted to rent scooters.  Well as we pulled up we found out there were no scooters for rent in Megans Bay.  We also found out that other people have found out that Megans Bay is a great beach because it was so crowded.  So Tyler and I decided to walk down the edge of beach and than we swam.  Well we swam a little to far and ran into a nudest colony.  So we swam a little closer away a little closer to the beach, but still away from all the people.  It was wonderful.  It was so quite and we saw some pretty fish.  Than we headed back to the city and ate at this yummy place called Glady's Cafe.  Seriously the food was amazing!  I would recommend it to anyone.  Than we did a little shopping.  Tyler and I talked to some locals who said the port was pretty close and was in walking distance.  So while everyone else took a cab back Tyler and I decided to walk.  What we thought would be a nice 20 minute walk turned out to be a long over an hour walk.  I was beat and sore by the end, but we did see a beautiful sunset.  So although we were super bummed we didn't get to do scooters it still turned out to be an awesome day!

The Cruise- Nassau

Nassau was our first stop and originally we were really excited about this because this was where Atlantis is.  But than we found out how expensive Atlantis was and that we were on on this island for a short period of time and decided it wasn't worth the money.  Tyler and I really wanted to rent scooters and tour the island, but our family veto us.  Instead we went to a beach that was close to Atlantis.  We tried to walk around the hotel, but you have to have a wrist band to get anywhere so we just headed back to the beach.  It ended up being a fun day.  My parents rented some jet skis and and we all took turns riding.  That was so much fun!  I also negotiated a great deal for us to get a couples massage.  That was Tyler's first ever massage by a professional and I don't think it will be his last because he loved every second of it.  Nassau wasn't our favorite island and it was kind of dirty, but we still had so much fun.  It was funny because at the beach there were tons of guys walking around trying to get you to try their "special" juice.  But don't worry we didn't give in :)  Nassau

The cruise- Ship addition

My parents took us on an Eastern Carribean cruise this year for our Christmas present.  We just needed to get our flight and the rest was taken care of.  This was such a nice break to get away from everything.  I love my kids more than anything, but its so nice to get away and refresh.  Especially since their our 9 grandkids now it gets kind of hard to have adult time with my family!

We went on the Allure of the Seas on Royal Carribean.  This is their largest ship to date and it was simply amazing!  It had 2 rock walls, ice rink, miniature golf, 4 different pools, a surf and boggy board simulator  zip line and endless amount of activities and fun things to do!  Here are a few of the ship stats.

SHIP STATS

Gross Tonnage225,282
Length1,187 ft
Max Beam213 ft
Draft30 ft
Cruising Speed22.6 knots

And we did find out that it cost 1.2 billion to make this ship!  So you can guess that we were never bored.  We saw the ice show, the water show, a few movies, played minute to win it and loved the all famous adult game show.  We opted out of seeing Chicago because we heard it dropped the F bomb and it wasn't exactly very family friendly.  I was okay with that because I didn't really want to see it anyway.  I really loved the water show!  They were so talented.  We did go dancing a few nights, well I went dancing one night and Janei'a and Kelly went more nights.  They even got hit on  by some guys.  Wink wink.   Of course we enjoyed 24 hours of food!  There were so many options for places to eat and we tried them all!  I was also amazed at their dairy free options and healthy options.  They had a vegetarian menu even.  Our waiter seriously took care of me. Because of my allergy I had to order my meal the night before, but they did make me a yummy dessert every night.  Since I found out about my dairy allergy I haven't been able to eat a dessert unless I make it so that was a real treat!  Prabu was our waiter and he truly became a friend to us.  I really do miss him!  I can't believe these workers leave their family for 6 months at a time. Since this ship is so large we only got towel animals on our beds every other night, but we still got excited to see them.  I have been surfing in the ocean before, but never on a simulator.  It was so hard.  I didn't trust myself very much and as soon as the guy let go of me I pretty much feel.  But it was still fun.  I really liked the buggy boarding though.  The lines were so long on the surf simulator that we only did it once.  The zip line was kind of weak, but I'm still glad we did it.  The initial drop of it was kind of scary.  The miniature golf was so much fun and of course Tyler and I won!  We placed bets that the winners got to bury the losers in the sand, but somehow the losers didn't own up to that bet.  Oh well next time we need to think of a better bet!  On this ship we did 2 formal nights.  Its always fun to get all dressed up and look hot for Tyler!  You will notice some of our pictures were taken in the central park!  They have a full atrium that mimicked central park and it was beautiful   Our room was actually on that floor so we usually walked through it anytime we went anywhere.  It was nice to have a ship that was so open!  None of us got sea sick because of this and you honestly forgot you were on a ship at times.  Cruise Ship2 Cruise Ship Cruise Ship1 Pictures from Janei'as camera2 Pictures from Janei'as camera Pictures from Janei'as camera1 Formal Night1 Formal Night P1090350P1090508P1090546

Its a new year

For news years day we went to my parents clubhouse and had the traditional fondue!  Still one of my favorite traditions. Then all the Sperry cousins went sledding.  It was FREEZING so we didn't last to long, but that didn't stop the kids from having a good time.Sperry Sleding1 Sperry Sleding
