Timpview Girls Tennis

Tennis has been such a big part of my life. During High School I learned a lot of my life lessons from tennis. I learned how to; manage time, win and lose, work hard, be a part of a team, set goals, work towards that goal and probably a lot more that I cannot think of right now. So after competitive tennis stopped for me I taught tennis at Golds. I loved teaching and I loved being around tennis. When I had had Aspen I knew I wanted to stop working and be at home with her, but I didn't want to leave the tennis world all together. Timpview High School had been asking me for years to coach their girls team, but it just never worked out before. So this time when they asked I thought about it for a long time. Finally everything just fell into place for me to take the coaching position. Last year was my first year coaching and I loved it. The girls were amazing and it was great to be a part of their lives. This year was even better. The hardest part was definitely try-outs. It was so hard to have to cut a few girls that were on last years team and other girls I had been close to. But once try-outs were over the year was great. I was thankful I was not pregnant and sick this season and I had even more energy to devote to the girls. These girls work so hard and are constantly laughing. I felt really old when during a practice there was an awkward silence and I said, "well big gulps huh". The girls looked at me like where did you get that from. Seriously who doesn't know dumb and dumber! I also learned that "classic" and "epic" are the new cool words to say.

The girls had an excellent season and built from last year. Last year it was most the girls first season with the team and they have worked so hard to get better. It showed early in the season and they continued to impress me by getting better and better. The JV team took 1st in region not ever losing a team match all season. Varsity improved a ton and took second as a team in region. But more importantly the girls came together and worked like a team. We sure had fun along the way. I am so thankful I get to coach these amazing girls that teach me something new each day. I am thankful I still get to be around tennis 12 weeks out of the year and that I still get to be a full-time mom and stay home with my kids. I am also thankful to all the babysitters that helped me out all season, especially Kathy, Janei'a and Kelly. I am so thankful to Tyler and Holly who both helped out with coaching. We couldn't have had such a successful year without the help of everyone. You can tell by these pictures what a fun team I have and I can't wait for next season to start!
