Bitter Sweet

Our cruise is less than a week away and I am so excited. It will be so nice to just relax on the ship and play around in Mexico. There is only one really sad part, Aspen cant come :( We found out as we were booking the ship that babies have to be 6 months old and Aspen is 2 weeks shy of that! I could have decided not to go, but than my whole family would have stayed back and I am not that selfish. So I am thinking of the positive. Aspen will be happy staying her with Grandma and I get to spend a whole week just with Tyler and my entire family. No one is bringing there kids and this will be our first time with NO kids since Cade was born (3 1/2 years). It will be great, well at least it will be great once I am there. Sure I will miss Aspen, but we will be so busy I wont have much time to dwell on it.

Here are some fun pictures we took of the kids dressed up in their Christmas outfits!

Wow. I have never left Jessica for more than one night except when I was in the hospital with Hayden. Good luck, and have fun. I wish I was brave enough because it will be awesome for your marriage!

We went on a cruise a few years ago when Callie was 15 months old and it was really hard but EXTREMELY FUN!!!! You will have a blast. One piece of advice that SAVED me on the cruise......we had a computer room on our boat where we paid a small fee to access the internet. I would check my email every day for a report on how my kids were doing. Because it is like $10 a minute for phone calls from the boat, I really liked this way of communication and was able to relax knowing all is well. So hopefully your in-laws like doing email and you can get a few updates. Have fun!!

I forgot to comment on leaving Aspen... I left Dallin for a week when he was 5 weeks old. It was the best thing. And then, you know since then...leaving all three for China last year. Leaving two of them this year for China. Going to Russia without Brennan...the list goes on and on. Its only a week and all will be fine. You'll come back happier and healthier and tanner (grin). And you will have new love for Aspen and your mother in law!
