Christmas

Christmas was so great this year. It was nice because it was very spread out. About 2 weeks before Christmas we had the Sperry Christmas party at my parents house. We had to do it so early this year because it was the year for all of our in-laws. And that means Rob and Janei'a head to AZ and Mike and Kelly head to Col. All the girls decided we would have our Christmas Eve tradition and just have finger foods for dinner. Tyler made his mom's hot wings recipe and they turned out so great. Now he can't hide how well he can cook. My mom had salami, cheese and everything else you need for crackers. She also had yummy shrimp. Janei'a brought ham rolls ups and Kelly brought a yummy 7-layer dip. I mention all this food because I know it is not a traditional Christmas Eve dinner, but it is my favorite. After eating dinner we all opening our presents. I love watching Cade and Kylee open their presents. They get so excited, which makes me excited. I wont mention all the stuff we got because we were all spoiled, but the day was perfect. After opening presents we all just sat around and talked. It was a perfect Sunday. I love hanging out with my family!!!
They after Tyler and I got back from Colorado we did our stockings. Since we spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with family this is our tradition were we are just alone. I love it because it is the only time during the Christmas season that it is just us!!! I love to see Tylers face when he opens a present. He is like a little kid and has to open and play with everything he gets!
Christmas Eve started off with eating dinner with Tylers grandparents. Dinner is always so yummy and it is fun to spend time with them. Then that night is a special night in the Mason family. Their entire extended family gets together and sings Christmas songs. They also tell this story of the Bodens and about the true meaning of Christmas. This story is true and happened many years ago with a family member. Tylers mom grew up listening to the story, which her grandmother also told every Christmas Eve. They finish the night telling the story of Christmas birth from the Bible and singing spiritual Christmas songs. It is a wonderful reminder of Christ and what Christmas is really all about. I love this tradition. After that we went to Tylers parents house and opened our Christmas PJ'S and the presents from all the kids. Then it was off to bed in the basement with all the kids. We always talk late and me and Sarah laugh a lot.
Christmas morning everyone wakes up WAY TO EARLY!!! Especially since the youngest Mason is 17. But I was excited. The big present this year was a 40 inch lcd TV that the Masons got. Everyone was very excited. After admiring the big TV we all opening our presents. Again we were way to spoiled! After presents we went up to Taylorsville to the Inkley breakfast. This was a special breakfast because Grandpa Inkley bore his testimony. Everyone thinks this might be his last Christmas with us so it was very touching to hear all the lessons he has learned in life. He is an amazing man and we can't imagine life without him. After the breakfast Tyler and I went down to my parents for dinner and some more presents. Needless to say I think Tyler and I got everything on our lists and more!!!! It was great to spend time with my parents.
The best part about this Christmas is that we were able to spend time with each side of the family. My family means so much to me. I don't know what I would do without each and every member. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

It sounds like your Christmas was amazing. I am glad you had a good Christmas. Can you believe I could keep it a secret from everyone that we were picked, it was killing me last Sunday since I knew we were picked for a baby of unknown gender, but we did not want to get everyone excited again in case it did not work out. My parents were in total shock when we told them to come to the hospital to meet their new granddaughter and that it was official this time. I know you mentioned wanting to drop by. Just let me know, it does get lonely during the days, but my dog makes it hard for visitors. Man I should have just wrote you an email. Oh Well :)
