Surgery Update!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us out this past few weeks with my surgery. I have the best family, friends and ward that have helped so much. I've had lost of visitors, emails, dinners, help cleaning and I couldn't have survived without everyone. Thanks so much.

Well both surgeries went better than expected. My gall bladder was out with-in 25 minutes. I had an incredible doctor. Too bad my recovery in the hospital was 6 hours. Poor Tyler. My stomach hurt for a few days, but healed quicker than I thought it would. By Sunday I was able to take a quick walk around our building and go eat Sunday dinner at my parents house. On Monday I had my uvular tissue removed. This surgery also went well. They didn't have to remove as much tissue as they thought. I was lucky to go to one of the best doctors in the country for this surgery. They thought I would be on bed rest after this surgery, but I wasn't! I was at least able to get up on my own to go to the bathroom and about 2 other times per day. Which still sounds horrible, but it was better than I thought.

Sunday following the surgeries I woke up feeling great. I took a very long walk around the whole complex this time! I was also able to go to Sunday dinner with the Masons. Late that night I started to get chest pains and called my doctor. He told me I had to go to the ER just in case something was wrong. After a CT scan and a ekg they ruled out anything serious. They put me on oxygen for a few hours and decided that since I was in bed all week I just wasn't getting enough oxygen. They gave me a few exercises that I get to do every few hours to help with my breathing and then sent me home. I am so thankful that it was nothing serious!

So I am doing pretty good. Better than they expected. I still have to be in bed most of the day because of my chest pains, but its not to bad. I also can't sit down at all. My stomach is completely better and I can eat what I want without it hurting. That is the best part. Next week I slowly ease back into working and in about 2 weeks I should be feeling better than ever.

I have the most amazing husband in the world. He has done things for me in the past week that no husband should have to do. But he does it willingly with a smile. He has made these past few weeks so much easier for me! I love him sooooooo much!!!!
